Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards.This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.

  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
  2.  Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, or

      Super Quickseal contains crystalline silica, Portland cement, calcium aluminate, calcium carbonate. Product is alkaline on contact with water and may cause injury to skin or eyes. Ingestion or inhalation of dust may cause irritation. Contains free respirable quartz, which has been listed as a suspected human carcinogen by NTP and IARC. Repeated or prolonged overexposure to free respirable quartz may cause silicosis or other serious and delayed lung injury. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Prevent contact with skin and eyes. Prevent inhalation of dust. DO NOT take internally. Use only with adequate ventilation. Use impervious gloves, eye protection and if used in a poorly ventilated area, use NIOSH/MSHA approved respiratory protection in accordance with applicable federal, state and local regulations. In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. In case of skin contact, wash affected areas with soap and water. If irritation persists, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. Remove and wash contaminated clothing. If inhalation causes physical discomfort, remove to fresh air. if discomfort persists or any breathing difficulty occurs or if swallowed, SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. This product contains material listed by the state of California as known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

      EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE
      EYE CONTACT: Severely irritating. If not removed promptly, will injure eye tissue, which may result in permanent damage.
      SKIN CONTACT: May cause irritation.
      INHALATION: May cause respiratory tract irritation.
      INGESTION: Irritating to mouth, throat and stomach.

    • Chronic health effects

      From MSDS:
      This product contains silicon dioxide [quartz]. Repeated or prolonged over exposure to free silica may cause silicosis or other delayed and serious lung injury.

    • Carcinogenicity

      This product contains silicon dioxide [quartz] which has been listed as a suspected human carcinogen by NTP and IARC.

    • Handling information

      Use only in a well ventilated area. Keep out of reach of children. If user operations generate dust, fume, or mist, use ventilation to keep exposure to airborne contaminants below the exposure limit.
      Keep container closed when not in use.
      Do not take internally. Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing.

      Review all local, state, and federal regulations concerning health and pollution for appropriate disposal procedures.

    • First Aid

      EYE CONTACT: Flush eye with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
      SKIN CONTACT: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash affected area(s) thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
      INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get immediate medical attention.
      INGESTION: If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Give victim a glass of water or milk. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Should vomiting occur, be sure to keep victim's head below hips to avoid aspiration of vomitus into lungs.
