  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
  2.  Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, or

      Hazard: Danger! Poison! Vapor Harmful. Warning. Use of this product may expose you to solvents which are known to cause cancer and birth defects and other reproductive harm. Notice: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational over exposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Precautions: Vapor may ignite explosively. Keep away from heat, sparks, flame. Vapor may cause flash fire. Do not smoke. Turn off and extinguish all flames, pilot lights on stoves, heaters, water heaters, electric motors and other sources of ignition during use and until all vapors are gone. Prevent build up of vapors by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross ventilation. If you can smell even a weak solvent odor, there is a real fire risk. Vapors may spread long distances. Do not use this product for any use that requires quantities of product to be spread over large surfaces (more than4 sq. ft.). The potential for fire and health effects increases dramatically. For any use that requires spreading over a large surface, use a non-flammable product. Use only with adequate ventilation. First Aid: In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes and get medical assistance immediately. For skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention immediately. Wash clothing before reuse. Thoroughly clean contaminated shoes. If you experience difficulty breathing, leave area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical attention immediately. If swallowed, drink 1 or 2 glasses of water or milk call a physician, hospital emergency room or poison control center for a way to induce vomiting. Keep out of reach of children.     • Acute health effects

      From MSDS Inhalation: Excess inhalation of vapors or mists may cause irritation of the nose and throat, headache, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, loss of coordination, and mental confusion. Respiratory symptoms associated with pre-existing lung disorders (e.g., asthma-like conditions) may be aggravated by exposure to this material. Eye Contact: This material is a severe eye irritant. Direct contact with the liquid or exposure to vapors or mists may cause severe stinging, redness, tearing, swelling, and eye damage.. Skin Contact: This material is a skin irritant. Prolonged or repeated contact may cause redness and burning, drying and cracking of the skin and severe skin damage. Contact may result in skin absorption but symptoms of toxicity are not anticipated by this route alone under normal conditions of use. Ingestion: This material has a low degree of toxicity. Ingestion of excessive quantities may cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Respiratory symptoms associated with pre existing lung disorders (e.g., asthma-like conditions) may be aggravated by exposure to this material. Persons with preexisting skin disorders may be more susceptible to the effects of this material. Preexisting blood and liver disorders may be aggravated by exposure to this material. Persons with preexisting heart disorders may be more susceptible to irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) if exposed to high concentrations of this material.

    • Chronic health effects
