Potential Health Effects
Eye Contact: May cause eye irritation. Signs and symptoms may include: pain, tears, swelling, redness and blurred vision. May cause eye irritation of susceptible persons.
Skin Contact: Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Prolonged or repeated contact with skin may cause mild irritation.
Inhalation: May be harmful if inhaled. Inhalation may cause irritation to the respiratory tract (nose, mouth, mucous membranes).
Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed. -
Chronic health effects
From SDS:
Prolonged and repeated skin contact may cause irritation and possibly dermatitis. Repeated or prolonged exposure may cause skin, respiratory, kidney and liver damage. Constituents of this product include crystalline silica which ,if inhalable, may cause silicosis, a form of progressive pulmonary fibrosis. -
Carcinogenicity
Inhalable crystalline silica is listed by IARC as a group I carcinogen (lung) based on sufficient evidence in occupationally exposed humans and sufficient evidence in animals. Crystalline silica is also listed by the NTP as a known human carcinogen. Constituents may also contain asbestiform or non-asbestiform tremolite or other silicates as impurities, and above de minimus exposure to these impurities in inhalable form may be carcinogenic or cause other serious lung problems. -
Handling information
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN! DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY. Avoid breathing vapor and contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Use only with adequate ventilation. Open all windows and doors or use other means to ensure cross-ventilation and fresh air entry during application and drying. Odor is not an adequate warning for hazardous conditions. Wash thoroughly after handling. Close container after each use. Do not store at temperatures above 120 °F (49 °C). Store containers away from excessive heat and freezing. Store away from caustics and oxidizers. -
Disposal information
Dispose of material in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations. State and Local regulations/restrictions are complex and may differ from Federal regulations. Responsibility for proper waste disposal is with the owner of the waste. Contain spilled material and remove with inert absorbent. Dispose of contaminated absorbent, container and unused contents in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Use personal protective equipment as necessary. In case of spillage, absorb with inert material and dispose of in accordance with applicable regulations. Scrape up dried material and place into containers.

First Aid
Eye Contact: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with large quantities of water for at least 15 minutes until irritation subsides. Get medical attention immediately.Skin Contact: Remove and wash contaminated clothing. Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical aid if symptoms persist.Inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued breathing difficulty is experienced, get medical attention immediately.Ingestion: If swallowed, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Get medical attention immediately.
