Carcinogenicity
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) lists chlorophenoxy herbicides inits Group 2B (limited evidence for Carcinogenicity in humans.) The US EPA has given thechlorophenoxy Herbicides 2,4-D, 2,4-DP, MCPP, and MCPA a Class D classification (notclassifiable as to human carcinogenicity.) More current 2,4-D lifetime feeding studies in ratsand mice did not show carcinogenic effects and a recent World Health Organization (WHO)review of 2,4-D toxicology has concluded that 2,4-D is not a carcinogen. -
Handling information
Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eat, drink or smoke and when leaving work. Provide good ventilation in process area to prevent formation of vapor. Obtain special instructions before use. Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Always use original container to store pesticides in a secured warehouse or storage building. Store at temperatures above 32º F. If allowed to freeze, remix before using. This does not alter the product. Containers should be opened in well-ventilated areas. Keep container tightly sealed when not in use. -
