Carcinogenicity
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) lists chlorophenoxy herbicides in its Group 2B (limited evidence for Carcinogenicity in humans.) The US EPA has given the chlorophenoxy Herbicides 2,4-D, 2,4-DP, MCPP, and MCPA a Class D classification (not classifiable as to human carcinogenicity.) More current 2,4-D lifetime feeding studies in rats and mice did not show carcinogenic effects and a recent World Health Organization (WHO) review of 2,4-D toxicology has concluded that 2,4- D is not a carcinogen. -
Handling information
Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eat, drink or smoke and when leaving work. Provide good ventilation in process area to prevent formation of vapor. Obtain special instructions before use. Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Keep only in the original container in a cool, well ventilated place away from children. Keep container closed when not in use. Keep from freezing. -

Eye Contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. Obtain emergency medical attention.Skin Contact: Remove affected clothing and wash all exposed skin area with mild soap and water, followed by warm water rinse.Inhalation: Assure fresh air breathing. Allow the person to rest.Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Obtain medical attention.
