Potential Health Effects
Routes of Exposure: Eye contact, Skin contact.
Eye Contact: Moderately irritating to the eyes.
Skin Contact: This product is not a skin irritant and did not cause skin allergy in predictive patch tests.
Inhalation: May cause irritation of respiratory tract.
Ingestion: Ingestion of this product can cause irritation of the mouth and throat, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Aggravated Medical Conditions: Exposure to this product may aggravate pre-existing skin, eye, and respiratory disorders. -
Chronic health effects
From SDS:
Inhalation overexposure to ethanol vapors can cause headache, nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. Studies in laboratory animals involving prolonged and repeated inhalation exposures to ethanol resulted in liver damage. Prolonged and repeated oral dosing of laboratory animals has caused mutagenic and developmental toxicity. -
Carcinogenicity
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has reported ethanol to be carcinogenic (based on chronic ingestion of alcoholic beverages).

Handling information
Avoid contact with eyes. No special technical protective measures required. Special handling procedures are not normally necessary. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Keep out of the reach of children No special restrictions on storage with other products. Contact with highly reactive chemicals like strong acids, strong bases, oxidizers or reducing agents may cause a dangerous reaction.

Eye Contact: Remove contact lenses. Rinse with gentle stream of water for 15 minutes, holding eyelids open. Get medical advice by calling a poison control center, doctor or hospital emergency room.
Skin Contact: Rinse skin thoroughly with water.
Inhalation: Move to fresh air. If irritation or breathing difficulty develops, GET MEDICAL ADVICE by calling a poison control center, doctor or hospital emergency room.
Ingestion: If victim is a child, give 4-8 ounces of water. For adults, give 8-12 ounces of water. Do not induce vomiting when this product is swallowed. If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep victim in an upright position. GET MEDICAL ADVICE by calling a poison control center, doctor or hospital emergency room.
