The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards. This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.

EU Hazard Classification Directive 67/548/EECHazard Symbols are used to classify dangerous substances.
Hazard SymbolsRisk Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "R" indicate the nature of the special risks, in accordance with Annex III to Directive 67/548/EEC (see Article 23(2)(d) Directive 67/548/EEC). The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning special risks, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the special risks.
Risk PhrasesSafety Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "S" indicating the recommended safety precautions, in accordance with Annex IV to Directive 67/548/EEC. The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning safety precautions, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the safety precautions.

Hazards Identification
Potential Health Effects
Routes of Entry: Skin contact, inhalation, ingestion.
Eye Contact: Moderately irritating to eyes.
Skin Contact: Moderately irritating to skin.
Inhalation: Moderately irritating to the mucous membranes. Inhalation of sprays may cause burning sensations in the respiratory tract, resulting in coughing.
Ingestion: May cause vomiting, with pain in the chest and abdomen, and diarrhea.
Signs and Symptoms: Inhalation may cause burning in the chest, with coughing. Prolonged inhalation sometimes causes dizziness. Ingestion usually leads to vomiting. Pain in the chest and abdomen, and diarrhea may follow. Headache, mental confusion, and bizarre behavior are early manifestations of severe poisoning, which may progress to unconsciousness.
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Individuals with chronic skin disease or known sensitivity to chlorophenoxy compounds should either avoid using them or take strict precautions to avoid contact. (respirator, gloves, etc.) -

Handling information
Store in original container in a locked area, inaccessible to children and pets. Keep from freezing. Do not allow cross-contamination of pesticides, fertilizers, seeds, feed or food.
-
Disposal information
Pesticide wastes are acutely hazardous. Improper disposal of excess pesticide, spray mixture, or rinsate is a violation of Federal law and may contaminate groundwater. If these wastes cannot be disposed of by use according to label instructions, contact your state pesticide or Environmental Control Agency or the Hazardous Waste representative at the nearest EPA Regional Office for guidance.
Container Disposal: Then offer for landfill or incineration, or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or incineration, or if allowed by state and local authorities by burning. If burned stay out of smoke. -
First Aid
Eye Contact: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
Skin Contact: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
Inhalation: Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
Ingestion: Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Do not induce vomiting unless told to by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give any liquid to the person. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Note to Physician: Contains petroleum distillate - vomiting may cause aspiration pneumonia.
Have the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor or going for treatment. Note to Physician: Contains petroleum distillate - vomiting may cause aspiration pneumonia.
