Chemical Composition/Ingredients
The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards. This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.

The GHS classifications for chemicals associated with products in this database may be viewed by selecting the "Advanced" button on the Chemical Ingredients tables. Since this is a work in progress, GHS classifications may not be shown for all chemical ingredients.-
Primary Chemical Name is the standard name assigned to a chemical substance.
ChemicalChemical Abstracts Service Registry Number is a unique identifier for a chemical and its synonyms. CAS numbers identify the chemical, but not its concentration or specific mixture. CAS Registry Numbers are assigned by the Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of the American Chemical Society. For more information: www.cas.org
CAS No./ID
We have assigned "ID numbers" (with 6 leading zeros or nines, e.g., 000000-xx-x , 888888-xx-x) or 999999-xx-x) for blends and chemicals that do not have CAS numbers. Is a seven-digit number (xxx-xxx-x) assigned by the European Commission to chemicals contained in three inventories:
EC No.
EINECS is the European Inventory of Existing Commercial Substances and its EINECS numbers are displayed as 2xx-xxx-x.
ELINCS is the European List of Notified Chemical Substances that was available after September 18, 1981 and its ELINCS numbers are displayed as 4xx-xxx-x.

EU Hazard Classification Directive 67/548/EECHazard Symbols are used to classify dangerous substances.
Hazard SymbolsRisk Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "R" indicate the nature of the special risks, in accordance with Annex III to Directive 67/548/EEC (see Article 23(2)(d) Directive 67/548/EEC). The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning special risks, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the special risks.
Risk PhrasesSafety Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "S" indicating the recommended safety precautions, in accordance with Annex IV to Directive 67/548/EEC. The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning safety precautions, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the safety precautions.
Safety PhrasesSVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:

Warnings
This product contains ingredients that may cause skin irritation on certain individuals, and a preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness. -
Acute health effects
From MSDS HEALTH HAZARDS AND HAZARD DATA FOR THE COLORANT-(MSDS 2/14/02) The TLV of the mixture has not been established. EYE CONTACT: CAUTION. Unmixed oxidation haircolors are eye irritants. When oxidation haircolors are mixed with developers (hydrogen peroxide), the mixture may cause severe irritation and possible permanent eye injury. SKIN CONTACT: May cause skin irritation or sensitization in sensitive individuals. INHALATION: Inhalation of ammonia vapors may result in respiratory irritation. INGESTION: Moderately toxic. ROUTE OF ENTRY Inhalation: Yes; Ingestion: Yes; Skin: Yes. Pre-existing dermatitis would likely be made worse by exposure to these products. Bronchitis may be aggravated by irritant vapors. HEALTH HAZARDS AND HAZARD DATA FOR THE DEVELOPER-(MSDS 9/4/01) The TLV of the mixture has not been established. EYE CONTACT: CAUTION. Developers are eye irritants. May cause severe irritation and possible permanent eye injury. SKIN CONTACT: Prolonged contact with skin may bleach it and cause burns. INHALATION: Not likely to be inhaled. INGESTION: Moderately toxic. ROUTE OF ENTRY Inhalation: No; Ingestion: Yes; Skin: Yes. Pre-existing dermatitis would likely be made worse by exposure to these products. HEALTH HAZARDS AND HAZARD DATA FOR THE CONDITIONER-(MSDS 9/4/01) The TLV of the mixture has not been established. EYE CONTACT: Potential eye irritant. SKIN CONTACT: Potential skin irritant. INHALATION: Not applicable. INGESTION: Practically non toxic. ROUTE OF ENTRY Inhalation: No; Ingestion: Yes; Skin: Yes. Pre-existing dermatitis would likely be made worse by exposure to these products. -
Chronic health effects
From MSDS HAZARD DATA FOR THE COLORANT A composite mixture of oxidative dyes has been tested in prolonged topical exposure studies of laboratory animals. No adverse effects on growth, reproduction or general health were observed. In topical studies no target organ toxicity was observed other than limited effect on treated skin. Pre-existing dermatitis would likely be made worse by exposure to these products. Bronchitis may be aggravated by irritant vapors. HAZARD DATA FOR THE DEVELOPER When developers were mixed with hair dyes and applied to the skin of animals for prolonged periods, no adverse effects on growth, reproduction or general health were observed. Prolonged contact with skin may result in bleaching and irritation of skin. Target Organs: Skin Pre-existing dermatitis would likely be made worse by exposure to these products. HAZARD DATA FOR THE CONDITIONER For purposes of chronic exposure under the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, this is an untested mixture. These products have been used extensively by consumers and Worldwide Beauty Care is not aware of any significant adverse effects. Target Organs: These products contain ingredients which have been shown to affect tissues or organs when fed at high levels of exposure in animal studies not encountered in normal use. Target Organs identified in animal studies are as follows: Glycerin:- Kidney, Liver; Propylene Glycol:- CNS; Isopropyl Alcohol:- CNS. Pre-existing dermatitis would likely be made worse by exposure to these products. -
Carcinogenicity
From MSDS Not listed as carcinogen by NTP, IARC or OSHA. -
Handling information
From MSDS COLORANT Do not expose to sunlight. Keep away from radiators and heat. Do not store any haircolor after it has been mixed with developer.
